  • This year Keala Kennelly becomes the first woman in history to ever be invited to compete against the best male big wave surfers in the world at the prestigious Eddie Big Wave Event at Waimea Bay.

  • 2016 Won the Pure Scot Barrel of the Year award at the XXL big wave awards making her the first woman in history to win an open gender category.

2019 GOALS

  • Continue to train hard and acquire more collaborative sponsors so that I can dedicate more time to training and chasing big swells.
  • Catch significant big wave swells in Portugal, Mexico, Fiji, Tahiti and Hawaii.
  • Defend my big wave world title
  • Win the Female Performance of the year at XXL big wave awards.
  • Be nominated for more XXL Big Wave Awards in the open gender categories.
  • I would like to hold the record for biggest wave and biggest paddle in wave for women.
  • Compete against the best male big wave surfers in the world  in the Eddie Aikua Big Wave Event and place.
  • Continue to work towards equality and LGBT rights.
  • More public speaking to uplift and inspire people.
